Bad news Marquette country riders

Doesn't everyone just hit the jump and never touch the bridges themselves? :D

In case you didn't know though... the detour of going north on 5 to 14 then west to L'anse is not small. I'd wager it addes an hour. It's also amazing and beautiful.

I'll be watching this thread/news closely, have a tripped planned to Michigamme the first part of February, and this section of trail being closed will really put a cramp in the available loops to ride. I think the DNR/MSA/Moose Country Club understands the importance of the trail 8 corridor to the snowmobiling/tourism economy, and I'm optimistic they can stick to their "schedule" of a mid-January re-opening.

This section is traditionally a very "high use" "congested" east/west route........YIKES!!!! Have 2 trips planned across there and its normally a rough ride until late Jan to early Feb as it is. Good luck to those guys in getting it done...and just when I heard that they got a new groomer for the mountains and it was going to be better this year, it is not a short reroute, especially with all the now added traffic.
