Anyone ride around Baraga area? Curious what the conditions are like. Have a trip there starting Thursday and there is no snow in the forecast. I dont want to waste time driving up there if we are going to be grinding skis the whole time like we just did around Newberry.

was hoping also to hear about trail conditions around lance, baraga and michigamme. One of our loops we do from Gogebic takes us to lanse then follow 14 to 5 down to 8 and back across and I know they are a bit out of les snow belt, wondering how the trails are that way as well

We rode through Baraga and Lanse last Friday and Saturday. As usual there is not a lot of snow in both Baraga and Lanse but enough to get through town.
Once you are outside of either town there is plenty of snow and the trails were all groomed flat.
On Saturday we cut across Keweenaw Bay from Baraga over to Lanse. There were people driving trucks on the ice so figured there was plenty of it.
The trail through Michigamee was perfectly groomed and plenty of snow.
We did a 330 mile run starting in Paradise Friday 6:30am to Copper Harbor. Then 280 miles from Copper Harbor to Stueben on Saturday.
Back to Paradise Sunday morning. All trails excellent except a few bumps Saturday late afternoon in Munising area due to lots of traffic.

Wow, that is a heck of a one way trip; I always think to myself as I do the 300+ ride "am I going to far, I will have to ride this again on the way back".
Good for you, you gotta team up with harvest as this type of ride is right up his alley.

Yes Friday and Saturday February 9th and 10th.
Plenty of snow around Paradise. Actually the trails coming back into Paradise Sunday morning were a little bumpy. They have been having groomer problems (breakdowns) all year.
We take plenty of "shortcuts" in order to shorten the trip where we can.
I have no interest in doing 330 miles all of the time.

Ok thanks. We ran into some guys on the 10th that rode paradise out of newberry and said conditions were bad.
