Battery tenders

I have found that our 4 stroke batteries lose power while stored in our barn (no heat) and so when we come up to sled the batteries are all dead. I have replaced them as needed but even the new batteries do not hold a charge long enough. It was suggested to get some type of battery tender. Any recommendations? Can I buy 1 tender and hook it up to 3 or 4 batteries or are do I need one for each battery? Thanks, Gregg

As long as the batteries are not dead, I see no problem charging 3-4 small sled batteries with one tender. I have ONE Tender Jr. hooked up to my Duramax Diesel that has two BIG batteries. It keeps both batteries charged while in winter storage. Ebay you can get a new one for $24 shipped.

Other option are the cheap Harbor Frieght ones, like $4. I use one on each of my sled batteries thru the summer. They are a very low amperage, so they won't kill the battery. One sled is an 07 with the original battery, so they must work.

I looked at your recommended Harbor Freight sight and found the tender and looks perfect but says not for use on sealed AGM batteries (sealed or gel type) are the sled batteries a sealed type of battery? Any concerns? Thanks, Gregg

To Greggk. Make sure the battery tender you pruchase has the ability to maintain a battery some cheap chargers do not do this and if left on battery will actually kill it. A battery tender Junior is a maitainer type of charger so it can be left on indefinetly without hurting the battery. I am just saying be careful of what you buy. Cheap doesn't = good.
