Today I was tested!

I've maintained my composure up till today. No snow for Christmas, no riding the Rev over the holidays and spending a week with the relatives indoors can test the patience of any man.

The day began when my wife knocked one of the mirrors off the car backing out of the garage this morning. Not just scratched or misaligned, tore the damn thing right off the car! Wanna bet that repairs come in just under our deductible?

Got the mess cleaned up and came in to watch the Packer's game. Didn't look good from the start, but hey we're two touchdown favorites at 13-0, haven't lost a game in a year...

What a train wreck! Finley couldn't catch a cold, Aaron's throwing them in the dirt, a broken leg and a defense that couldn't stop a busload of schoolgirls. (no offense to the schoolgirls and that broken leg looked bad on the replay)

So here we are. The Bears come to Lambeau on Sunday and the weather's too warm for bears to hibernate so they'll be scrappy as always.

What a day!!

I hear ya Gary!! I live in Hurley and have my sled pointed at the garage door but can't ride. I can hear sleds tearing up the trail but for the life of me don't know why they are riding on it. I live two blocks from the trail and walk my Husky on it every other day and I sure wouldn't put my sled on it. Too many rocks for me. Worse yet thought I would numb the pain of living in BIG SNOW COUNTRY and not being able to ride by watching the game. Found that the game was not carried by my cable company so I couldn't watch it either. Sounds as though it was a good thing cause watching the game just would have irritated me even more. Things can only get better. SHOW ME THE SNOW!!!

You think the Bears will show up? ......No O at all. Bears would do better playing D only might score more points. I hope Johnny Knox is ok?.......... they said back mid to lower injury but took them along time to get him on the backboard. He sure took a wicked lick at a weird angle!!:(

I'm feeling your pain Gary.
I cringe every time I hear the weather dudes on all the
Green Bay channels talk about how nice the above temps are
and how the Holiday Travelers should be happy.
BA HUMBUG!!!!!!

The Packers looked horrible. I had a weird feeling about this game.
One odd (freaky) thing,....
The Sporting News (before the season) had the Pack winning the Super Bowl with a lone loss on the season,...To Kansas City. Very freaky!
But hope they "forecasted" correctly.

Bears Johnny Knox. YIKES! That was horrible.
He was completely bent backwards in a "C". I cringe every time I see that
"lowlight". He is a Great Player and I hate to see injury to anyone,...
But man,... that looked bad.
I remember years back,... The Packers Brian Noble ended his career in a
very similar looking injury. Hope he is allright.

Well, have to go outside and do a SNOW DANCE,...
This weather is Pathetic.

Think * Snow!

The Bears are pathetic and have about as much of a chance of beating the Packers as I do with ten of my friends. Go Blackhawks!

Blkhwkbob,

I like your Idea. While we may not be actual "friends" we are fellow John Dee'ers so that being said there now you and me ready for this mission. If we can only find 9 more guys willing to go into green bay and play next weekend maybe the Bears could win one more game this year. Man things have been absolutly pathetic. Even if we didnt win I almost bet we would have a better showing than the Hanie offense has. Im 6 ft. 6 not the fastest guy in the world so when you are assigning positions and building your offense keep that in mind!!! LOL.... Love it the idea of a bunch of guys off the street playing football for that joke of a offense. See my new teamates at practice...... Come on guys who's with us????

P.S. im not so sure my wife would even be mad for me missing Christmas. She cant stand watching the Bear debacle anymore either.

Well, I'm 48 and have already had two hips replaced, but I might still throw a better pass than Hanie. I'd be all for it, but I've put tons of work into my sled this year, and I'd like to ride it once before Clay Matthews kills me.

Thanks for the tip, Woodi.
Willie Beamons is usually where we unload to ride on the local trails. I haven't tried their Red Cup Special yet, but if it doesn't snow soon I'll have no choice.

I've read a couple of books on the subject and the Packers & Bears original teams were made up of just that, regular guys that hung out together. In Green Bay the local paper put out the idea, the Meat Packing plant ponied up the cash for equipment and Curly Lambeau coached and played for the first team. George Halas soon hired a couple of ringers from the college ranks to get an edge in talent and the rest is history.

Like the idea of us getting on the field, but sorry to let you know that the Unions heard what you were thinking about and are organizing a protest against it. :)
