Well said Gary, its sad that we have to constantly remind people of the simplest of rules and regulations. First and foremost, we have to remember that the trails would not exist without the generosity of property owners, and with that generosity comes expectations of respect of their property. Then comes the clubs who do all the leg work, approaching property owners to obtain permission and actually put the trails in. The simple task of staying on trail is not a difficult one, and in the end the lack of respect from the few end up ruining it for the many. Remind fellow riders to stay on trail and if you see it occurring, call them out and remind them of the importance of respect to the landowner and that this trail is a privilege not a right. As Gary stated "Let's have a safe year" keep the on trail drinking to a minimum, respect and follow signage. And to learn the backbone of what makes this sport and the trails we ride possible, join a club and become an actively involved member, without them we would have nothing.
