Folks,
Hopefully this does not break any rules for this board, is so I am sorry John!
There is a benefit for Pat McIntyre's wife Claudia who is working her way through treatments for cancer. If you ever ride in the UP I almost guarantee you have met Pat and his son Kip at Pat's Yamaha in Greenland or Pat's other son Chad at M & M Powersports in Hancock. They are among the best supporters of our sport in the UP. The benefit is in Mass City at the VFW from 3 to 11. Spaghetti dinner raffles, DJ and lots of fun. They will be doing boards similar to sports boards I guess? I'm not totally familiar but I guess there are 100 squares per board and you pick a square and if they pick your ticket/square you win. Squares are $5/10 each for the larger items. The smaller items will be $1 or raffelling off I think.
I have a list of some of the stuff here :
6 days 5 nites @ mystic dunes resort in orlando fl.(2 bedroom sleeps 8)
Load of each: sand, gravel, and firewood (good in ontonagon county only)
Gift certificates for Quincy's in Dollar Bay
Yamaha jackets
Electric tiller
Gift certificates from lots of places
Gift baskets made by local people
Cutting boards made by locals
Post hole digger
Bar mirrors
Locally made crafts
The things you brought in
Artwork(not here yet but it will be)
Suzuki Leather Jacket
a nights stay at Americinn
Pepsi Putter

Being in Central IL I cannot drive up for this event however both shops have helped our group out in the past and I feel compelled to try to help out however I can so I sent some items for the raffle and I challenge others to do the same. If you can go great, if not call Chad or Kip and put in a bid for an items or do like I did and offer an item. Let's help pay these guys back for all they do for us!

Thanks everyone! THINK SNOW

Does anyone know if the family is just accepting straight donations? I agree that the McIntyre family has been nothing but a positive influence on the sport in the Western UP. There have been countless stories on this forum on how they have gone out of their way to help those in need. Let's show them our appreciation.

Not sure but you could always call and buy a bunch of squares in the game to win a jacket or something.

Thanks again Dan, you guys are a class act and sure know how to bring a tear to a guys eye. Your support is greatly appreciated. I'm not sure if they have a fund set up to donate to or not but I will find out. It will be nice to spend some time with family this weekend, not to often do we all get together at the same time...I'll bet a lot of you folks never even knew that Kip and I have two older sisters! My sister Tracy drove in from WI last night and I picked my sister Holly up from the airport today. There's nothing like family and friends. Thanks again for the support and prayers Dan:)

I know these benefits can be a major help in a time of need. I am wondering who to make the check out to?

Should we just make it out to Pat, or Claudia?

I might even drop it to Chad tomorrow.

Thanks M8man, wish I knew how to work more online. It would be neat to have some kind of online auction for some snow stuff.

The benefit was a nice time, lots of people showed up. The entire McIntyre family is top notch. I pray for many more years for Claudia, she's a sweet gale.

I too would like to thank everyone for their support and efforts. We really appreciate the business that all sledders bring to our establishments. Snowmobilers are very passionate people and they really make owning our motorsports shops alot of fun. Thanks again to all!
