Planning a backpack trip for our group. starting point is the bluffs inn in bessemer. 1st overnight stop is Hancock. wondering how far by trail & recommended routes? any help is appreciated

about 120 trail miles,.......take the 8E grade to Bergland, stop for a beef sammie at the Bay Bar, then 13N to Rockland, Mass City, and continue on 3N to Hancock....

If you go on a Wednesday I'd stop at Henry's in Rockland for build your own pizza. If they still do this. It's awesome

If it's only 120 miles, take the 13 loop from behind Pat's Yamaha up to Twin Lakes and then 3N from there. It is 36 miles, but you will love it.

I just rode from Ironwood out past Bergland, then south on Gogebic down to 2, west into vilas county, to Presque isle to mercer to hurley. I wouldn't do it again. Horrible from wakefield to east of bergland. Pretty bad going south, 13 is ****. Once we reached Wisconsin got a lot better, had first tracks for a while, but was a little thin in spots. Iron county was the best of the 160 miles. Lake Gogebic is froze, had a couple sketch spots halfway down east side. Tommorow trailering up to twin lakes where i know there is plenty of snow.
