Packin it with my boys this year and was wondering how many miles. I think we should be able to do it in a day but I'm not sure. Any info or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Not a problem. It is under the hondo mark. Houghton is a great destination point but there are some beauty secrets past that town. Do you need to be back in Bessemer for the race?

Go all the way to Copper Harbor and stay at The Mariner North. Be sure to get a massage while there. CH is maybe another 68 miles from Houghton.

What race? We're going between Christmas and New Years. I know it's a busy time but with the kids scool schedules it's the only time. I think it's been over 10 years since i've been in that area but we use to go to a place with a big hill to clime is that still around and possible? If so does anybody know where its at?

Sorry about that on the race. You didn't mention the timeframe. There is a ISOC race event in the Bessemer area this coming weekend.

You are thinking about the Copper Peak hillclimb. That will not be an issue. ;) They have moved the race to a hill without fences. It will not be held during that time period.

The ride to Houghton is a great trip. The ride past Houghton is even better.

Sorry Gang, I hope I'm not giving up too many secrets.

That hill is on the trail east of wakefield. Just a few miles outta town. The trail is on the north end of Sunday(?) lake. You are talking the hill for you guys to climb and not races. correct? Its on a gas pipeline.

Oh, you mean that hill? Top of the world. ;)

Srt20, that is a great observation.

Tom701, mother nature has not eroded that hill away yet.

He may mean Whealkate Bluff near South Range. That's one heck of a hill I always challenge my buddies to that and all of them talk a big game until they are standing at the base of it.
