Sorry old abe it's been a busy day. We got on the trails a total of 6 times. 4 of them were with the kids, and twice together. The last time out was a week ago Tuesday night. Left at 7 p.m. and everything was groomed, and due to the warmth during the day it was hard and fast. Went north into Chippewa county, headed west into Clark. Got to the bar in Rock Dam and ordered food just before ten. Left at eleven and dropped down to the Buffalo River Trail at Fairchild to Osseo. Headed the remaining 7 miles north to home after the best ride of the year, flipped on the computer to the notice of trails closing at 8 a.m. We saw the spots opening up and knew they would do it. It's been this way for the last 3 years basically. The trails get nice and mother nature Yanks the plug.
Trempeauleau county is open from Northfield, Pigeon Falls, and Elk Creek north and the Buffalo County Trail as of Thursday morning. This will allow access to Clark county trails as long as Eau Claire allows it by Fairchild. There was logging north of Fairchild toward rock dam. You will need scratchers, or watch out for overheating. The Buffalo trail looked flat and fast today. Eau Claire is still closed. All the Trempeauleau trails coming north have good size bare spots coming up hills on the south exposed hills. We drove down by Arcadia today and saw two separate trail sections. They will be fair to good riding, with little cushion. We're heading for Hayward and Cable tomorrow. One last weekend before I think the better trail conditions are over for the year.
I hope you all have a great ride and have been able to enjoy the season.
