Best place to upgrade Polaris warranty

I bought a 2010 IQ Shift in Feb of 2010. I just got a letter from Polaris that says the warranty expires in September. I thought it had only a year but whatever.

My question is about upgrading the warranty. Do I have to do it through poo via the letter they sent or can I call around to different dealers and get a better rate?

If it came from Polaris, It's probably for the Polaristar Extended Service Contract. I would contact them and see what it costs. The guy I bought my sled from purchased it when he bought it new. I have no idea what he paid for it, if anything, since it's an 09 800 and we all know the story with that motor.

I'm glad I have it because when the CPU fried out on it this year, I got a new one with all the updated programming, as well as a new voltage regulator, and it only cost me the $50.00 deductable.

Certainly worth researching.

What I was thinking was that a different dealer may give a different price other than straight from Polaris.

When I bought the new Rzr, there were many places that offered different prices on the same warranty. I'm thinking I may be able to do that with the snowmobile as well.

You can get "other versions" of a warranty. I shopped them hard for the RMK I just sold. The Polaris warranty covers the most, was a little less money and is transferable. The dealer said that the Poo warranty puts up way less of a fight on a claim than the other Warranty Insurance Companies do.

Why not call the dealer you bought the sled from and ask him....as a customer, you might get some break, and some is better than none.

Just a heads up for ya in case you dont know;

the polaris brand extended warranty is very overpriced and you can talk the dealer down a TON. IIRC the 4 year warranty in 09 was 12 or 1400 dollars, I got it for $470 something. I just bought my rzr a month or so ago. The dealer was trying to sell me a 5 yr warranty for $1600 or so. I got him down to $620. Just trying to help you out. These were Polaris factory extended warranty, not some off brand 3rd party crap.
