Big Bay or Marquette, MI attractions?

Is there any attractions with trail access in either of these areas? Thinking of backpacking from Houghton out that direction. Good places to stay or sight seeing spots ??

Not a ton of attractions in Big Bay, but, some nice scenery & nice folks. There is a a few places to stay, Big Bay Motel, Thunder Bay Inn for example. Big Bay Point Light house over looking Lake Superior, Lake Independence. Thunder Bay Inn is across the street from Lake Independence & has excellent food, it is also historic, the Movie Anatomy of a Murder was filmed there back in the day with Jimmy Stewart which they have some memorabilia displayed. Cool Place.....

I will second the Thunder Bay Inn. Cool place for sure. No tv's in the room, but great bar and food.

Thunder Bay Inn is an annual stop for us as well. Never been disappointed. One year I walked in with my wife and the place was packed. There was an ice fishing tournament going on and when the owner saw my face he quickly came over to me and brought me and my wife into the back room beyond the bathrooms and served us our meal there. We had the whole room to ourselves. That meant a lot to us and we will never forget that.

Some cool trails around big bay. We were there earlier this season. Not sure we ever rode there before. Ate lunch at the anatomy of a murder place.
