Big Powderhorn Ski Lodge Burned

We have our place up there. The Ski lodge, restaurant etc is like burned to the ground.

Just happened. Ouch

Oh jeez. So sad. We are heading up to Bergland this weekend. And go by there often. It always seemed to busy when we rode by.

Where else but John Dee site can one listen to fire department fighting a fire in the UP, push a couple of buttons to find fire is at Powderhorn Mtb and find pictures of the action as its going on. Now they are picking up hose and getting ready to leave.

Wonder how it started? grease fire probably

My son has a pass there, wonder what now. The only thing standing will be that massive stone fireplace, i'll try to get pics tomorrow.

Thats to bad, i use go there in the late 80s-mid 90. I remmber siting at that fireplace trying to dry my wet boots after trying to ride though 2 feet of snow on my 79 yamaha. We allways stayed at a caban on top of the hill

No stinking fire slow them down...

Fear not they will open friday at 9:00 am with ticket sales, rentals and lodging being taken care of right next door at the Caribou Lodge.
