Our big thanks to all who helped in our week-end trail clean-up. The chain saws were all buzzing full speed. We had an exceptional amount of trees downed from our "horizontal tornado-or so it was called" and everyone really pitched in with that and normal annual brushing. Groups were formed and went to their designated areas on our 130 miles. Bag lunches were provided on Fri by D's Base Camp & Mosquito Inn. Saturday lunches were provided by The Pit Stop and Krupp's Mini-Mart. Krupp's Resort provided the food, bon fire, and shared snowmobiler stories on Saturday night. Julie, Donna and Lori all provided a side dish and there was quite an abundance of food. Our turn out for this was 60 people counting Richard & Sandy. We even lucked out with great weather, for the most part. Sunday morning as everyone was loading up to leave, was a rerun of all the previous years-everyone aching and paining but smiling and saying they had a great time and already started planning on returning next year.

Had a great time, got a little wet, cut a lot of trees, had some great lodging and food, but most of all re-connected with some old friends and met some new ones! It's always fun to spend a weekend in the UP and it doesn't matter if it's winter or someother time. For those of you that haven't done this before it is really a good time and gives you a chance to get a new perspective of the trails you're used to seeing covered with snow. Be sure to think about coming next year, but if you want to see what's it like before then keep your eye's on John's Journal for the Keweenaw Club's weekend in October.
