IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) - Nearly one month after a motorcyclist led police on a high-speed chase through three counties before he escaped, a 27-year-old from Westland was arrested by Michigan State Police.

Andrew Kruczynski was picked up in Canton Township on April 27, then taken to the Ionia County Jail where he faces multiple charges of fleeing and eluding police.

An Ionia County deputy was injured during the chase where speeds reached more than 120 mph on April 6.

The pursuit began in Lansing with the motorcyclist traveling well in excess of 100 mph. The Michigan State Police began tracking him in Ionia County.

During the pursuit while the deputy's car had its lights and siren on, a black Pontiac turned in front of the squad car. The deputy hit the Pontiac and then a tree in front of a home in the 10700 block of M-21.

The deputy suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to the hospital. The two people in the Pontiac were examined at the scene.
