Bingo's in Wakefield?

Anyone know they are still open for business? Over MLK weekend heard a few people that went by on Friday and Saturday and it appeared to be closed. I know that Gene's wife passed a few years ago and maybe it was time for him to walk away.

I drive by there everyday on my way to work. He is always around and open
, He lives in the house behind the bar. Not the "office/house" out by the road

Stopped in on Thursday and he was there. Always a true gentleman with a story or two and his new nose looks great.

We are close friends with Gene. It was tough when Char passed just 2 years ago.
Gene is still going strong. He still has some great stories to tell.

We love his snowfall forecasts. We used to ask his speculation on the TV forecast for the next day or two. His simple response was, "We'll see what is on the gas pump in the morning." So far, he has been 100% correct.

Gene will keep running the place at his own pace for quite some time. He says it is better to be busy and live vs. sitting around doing nothing. We also believe in that theory.

He must have had some surgery on his nose. I didn't ask him but it surelooks a lot better.

I believe that one of his daughters is a doctor or something at the Mayo Clinic...perhaps she finally got him to go in and have someone take a look and make sure there were no major issues.

His stories are classic and not to make a joke of it but we got to talking one time about his high school football days...to our groups surprise he was an o-lineman and a nose tackle. Plenty of giggles over that one.
