Yepp that is what they do here too. I understand they can't leave them running around the twin cities.
But they don't bother to bring them out of town either. Just go "pop" and dig a hole.

I didn't know Greenville had a downtown...

Read the book "Crooked Tree" by Robert C. Wilson. It may change your perspective!

Downtown Geenville Mi is very nice, they made a heck of a come back after what Electrolux did to them. Around 15,000 people. Belding just to the south is the downtown fiasco.

What they ran out of citations to write ????
I think it was that they had to much attention from the public to shoot a bear eating bird seed out of a bird feeder. That is good as far as I can see. As far as citations, I suspect they can get kinkos, staples or office max to whip them up some more on a moments notice. I heard that Charmin also prints then up. ;)

Black Bear running around in Greenville Mi. downtown area. Cops were told to shoot it. .

Let's hope they are a better shot than the Chgo police shooting a cougar on the north side.

Greene said he heard a volley of gunfire as he was bathing his 10-month-old son. His wife, Kate, ran upstairs screaming with their 3-year-old son, and they all took cover in a back room.

"At first, I'm thinking there's a gun battle in the street," said Greene. The officers had shot holes in an air conditioning unit on the side of Greene's house while aiming for the tan cougar.

That's "holes", not just one stray bullet.

I remember that happening....just as sad as blowing a mother moose away in Ishpeming because it "endangered the people" while the calves stood by and watched.

Both senseless and needless events that could have been avoided. The cat would have eventually gotten away from town, and the moose would have gone away in the night. In Alaska, moose wander into buildings sometimes and they just open the doors and let them run back out.
