since the losers are done and we r watching real football teams..thought I'd start a thread for the real season(except for u red wingers out there)

Go Hawks.

All of these OT games and shootouts are getting old. We need more solid W's

Last I checked, hawks are neck and neck with the Blues. Wingers are of no concern :)

Kane had a few off games and Bickell is worthless, but just watching Duncan Keith play defense has kept me sane lately. His instincts and skill level are unreal. I wish they were a little tougher and I bet they get another grinder at the deadline. Also, Ben Smith is a star on any other team. Wish they could find him more ice time.

time to sit seabrook down, his lack of effort is driving me nuts..nothing but lazy poke checks and bad pinches..but that freakin keith is purely amazing..

will be at the mosquito for the Thursday and sunday game against boston..should be good..football and hawks at 2 pm sunday

Hawks have 10 players going to the Olympics for various countries I believe that is Nhl record. That says a lot for how much talent is on team

Never say that!!!!! Gotta keep our record of hitting the playoffs going, even if we don't get to the finals. Believe it's 22 or 23 seasons straight of making the playoffs. A little more experience and we'll get there.

But I sure do miss Stevie Y and the Grind Line. Awesome years we had there.

Man, you're giving me nightmare flashbacks of the Bob Pulford years of the Blackhawks. His claim to fame was the Hawks making the Playoffs in twenty-something straight years, or some garbage like that. To accomplish this feat, the old jerk would deal off picks and prospects every year to acquire over-the-hill players who would be steady, get them into the Playoffs and then run out of gas. That's why the Hawks went 49 years between Cups. In sports today, you really have to build through the Draft. Nobody trades anymore. To get good picks, you have to be crappy and miss the Playoffs a couple of times. The only people who like just making the Playoffs are the owners who make extra money for each game.

Always easy to hate the players we would most like to see on our own team. See Chris Chelios. :) Marchand IS a pest...hate him too....but he IS good. He was particularly good Sunday....

Pretty good weekend for the boys in my book....solidly beat the hottest team in the league Friday night (Ducks had won 19 of 20!!) and played an excellent game against a very good Bruins team Sunday. I was at Sunday's game and both teams were impressive. If you'll recall, the Hawks and Bruins are about as evenly matched as you'll find. During last year's finals, 3 of the 6 games went to OT....one of them to triple OT... But I'll take the weekend's production here in the dog days of a WAAAAAAY too long regular season. :)

And Kane's shot was awesome....his first shoot out goal of the season for cripe peat! :cool:

yea..as I reflect on last season..i really liked the 42 game schedule..the pace was wicked and so were the playoffs..but they gotta pay the bills and 42 games don't cut it:)
