The NWS just posted a Blizzard Warning for the above counties beginning at 11 am Thursday & expiring Friday at 1 a.m. The expected snow totals of 2-5" are not the issue, it will be the winds which are expected to gust 45-50 mph creating white out conditions as well as drifting. If you are traveling in these areas be prepared. This could be a dangerous situation, be smart & be safe.

Once this system passes with the expected 2-5" & whiteout conditions, then the LES is suppose to give us another 4-6" in the higher terrain areas of the Keweenaw. By the time all is said & done we could end up with 6-11" if it all pans out. MTU winter carnival snow statue judging is this morning, statues are currently getting covered with the fresh snow, at least they're not melting like last year.

It is FUGLY out there right now with the winds cranking. Visibility goes from clear to 1/16 of a mile to zero in a blink of an eye. Not fit for man nor beast right now, some potentially deadly conditions right now, be safe out there if you must be out.
