Blown engine update

As I tore into the old 2010 600RMK engine after it blew up it was obvious it needed more than a new top end. Had a chunk of cylinder wall broken off that got ground up in the crank, took out an injector and punched a hole in the bottom of the crankcase. Started pricing out all the parts I was going to need and it was getting expensive. I found a guy who had a 2011 engine with under 1000 miles on it for sale so I jumped on that. Dropped it in on Saturday and its back alive now. Just in time for the snow on Thursday. Maybe I can get another 9100 miles out of that sled yet (or at least my son can.) Sorry for the sideways photos, I can't seem to correct them.

So you can’t see much but there’s an injector in there gone plus a crack/hole in the crank and then you can see the missing chunk of the cylinder wall. Lots of flakes of aluminum in that side when I pulled the jug off.

Actually you probably wouldn’t see a Yamaha engine in pieces.

And you're probably right but any brand's engine can look like the one in the picture due to wear & tear, etc. We have Yamaha's TR1 engine in our Waverunner and it's a fine motor, very solid.
