If I can make my way out of the metro area with the snow, I am hoping to head to the Brainerd, MN area to ice fish this coming Saturday. I'm looking for up-to-date ice conditions and am struggling to find any. Does anyone have a report they can share with me? I love to ice fish, but don't care for iffy ice, so I want to make sure conditions are safe for walking out.
This will be the earliest I will be going out this way in quite a few years. If you have any suggestions on lakes to hit this early I would appreciate the help in direction. I usually go to North Long or Round, but will certainly try other lakes if the ice is better and hopefully descent walleye fishing.
