Brake Problem on Sled

2006 AC Crossfire 700

Before last season, I got the sled out to get it ready for the season. For some reason the track wouldn't move so we eventually loosened up the brake pad and broke it free. It seemed to spin after that. The last trip of the year it seized up again and we broke it free again. I suspect that the entire season it wasn't truly free because later that trip the drive belt exploded almost literally. Probably from extended use trying to pull harder than it needed too.

I haven't looked yet this year, but I suspect it is locked up again. If opening up the brake system and breaking it free doesn't fix it what will?

The only thing I did that I can think of was power wash the sled after the season before. But if a little water got in there it shouldn't matter right?

Sounds like the caliper is getting stuck might need to replace or rebuild it or check to see if the caliper slides on 2 pins they might need to be lubricated. I had this Problem on a car same principle. The 2 pins were rusted to the caliper so it would not allow the caliper to retract after braking.Just my 2cents

a similar thing happened to me on my 95 Z440 and last summer i took the whole caliper off and one side of the caliper was stuck the entire season. so i got all the brake fluid out of the line and caliper and blead the whole system and it worked great after that.
