Brake Sucks- 08 XP TNT

Bought this sled used in July, took it for it's first ride 2 weekends ago. The brake
barely works, I have to mash down on it to get it to stop, the lever is nearly in the
handle bars before it will stop. Have blead the brake line but still not that good after.
Rotor is fine no warping, shes a beaut Clark! has brake fluid too. It's like it's either on or off no in between.

Any suggestions? Anyone have an 08 TNT or skidoo with this problem?
Is there a brake lever adjustment? My srx has one but cannot see one on this.

Coming of an 99 srx 600 with awesome braking, I don't expect to be as awesome as that
but would like to feel safe if I need to really really stop.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Does it change if you pump them?? I test rode a 08 800 last year and it did the same thing. Scared the heck outame the first turn I came to. Went around the track twice (pumpin them the second time). Made it work a little better and went up and told the dealer fix the brakes and I would buy it. He told me as is so I told him let the next guy buy it then...

Could be a sticking caliper or simply worn out pads. Also make sure you are bleeding with fresh fluid. If your useing an open container thats been sitting around for a while it may have absorbed water. The reservoir is so small, it dosen't take much moisture to give you a mushy "pedal".

Also, not sure if that model has a steel braided line. If it does not, make sure the hose is not expanding at all with preasure applied to the line

Quite the job if you have to take the caliper off. Pads can be changed very easy, but if there is something wrong with the caliper it is kind of a chore to get off of there.
If the pads are good, then there is H2O in the line or resi. As stated add fluid and bleed system.

If the system is not leaking fluid and you have changed it then I would pull the caliper off the rotor and apply the brake and verify the piston is not hanging up in the caliper bore. You could also check before pulling the caliper that the rubber hose is not swelling somewhere when applying the brake. If all else looks fine then I would suspect a master cylinder.

Thanks for all your help, that's why this site is the best!!!! Have a few things to look at and will get back with the verdict.

UPDATE: Bleed the brake again, refilled with new fluid. Master Cylinder???. No expansion in the hose when press brake lever. It is better, still not great, guess I will just have to deal with a soft brake, I am getting used to how it slows/stops, although still don't feel 100% on hills or if I need to stop fast. Does anyone know if the braided line can be used instead of the hose? If this can be done maybe I'll try that.

I had the same problem, soft brake lever on my 2008 Ski Doo Renegade 800r. The problem was that there was a pin hole allowing a slight amount of air to be sucked in to the line. Dealer replaced the whole braking mechanism on the handlebar and they work perfect now!

One finger is all you should need and the brake lever should go no where near the handle bar.

If you have the ability, to to back bleed the system. Put brake fluid in under pressure at the bleeder and let it come out the master cyl.. I have seen real small bubbles of air get caught in the plunger assembly that will not come out with a standard bleed job. A syringe of about 4-5 OZ. capacity should be enough to push it through the whole system. That brake should be be real firm, Ski Doo's have great brakes, and should never be soft at all. You need to find the problem.
And, yes, aftermarket brake lines are available.
