Bridge fest

I guess they Houghton/Hancock area has a bridge festival for the lift bridge. Got just a blip of it on FB. Was wondering what it is all bout.

Bridge Fest celebrates the birthday of the Portage Lift Bridge. This year, it was called Bridge Fest Feast, which was to be a combination of 2 separate events, that being Bridge Fest & the Seafood Fest. I must say, the weather did not cooperate, very cool & rainy, though it did keep the mosquitos down. The food offerings were not as good as in the years past, though I think the weather may have played a bigger part in it than anything.-Mezz

Mezz - We were up there the first 5 years out of school but then they had the two Fest's seperately and we missed the parade of Bridgefest, big let down. We didn't get back up there this year (we haven't done anything this summer yet), but knowing they put them back together we may just come back up. I know Seafood Fest had a whole Lobster for some unreal price of 11 bucks each or something. The last year it was much higher.

we where there sun.....went to dinner at some place down next to bridge....found some guy\kid falling down drunk on the sidewalk and no one would help him everyone drove by and some just walked past him.....we stopped to get him up and get him help...finally some kids came out of a bar who knew him but we had to beg them to take him home.....looks like it was a good time from what I seen hahhahaha
