Bucket List: Oshkosh Fly-In this July

Just down the road from us in Oshkosh, Wisconsin is home of the E.A.A. the host of one of the largest Aviation shows in the world. They announced the dates this week, July 25th through the 31rst, so if you're on vacation that week, circle that on your calendar. I found out this week that I'll be part of the ground transportation team so I'm looking forward to that... kind of, as it's the busiest airport on the planet for those few days. What's a few more gray hairs, right?

Below are a couple of links the first, slick video highlights from last year's Fly-In. The second link is the Experimental Aircraft Association's website that has all the information you'll need if you're coming in to join us. Ask anyone who's been there and they'll tell you it for sure belongs on your Bucket List.

I was there when the SR-71 was there. Watching that fly was worth the ticket price alone. It is definitely a neat experience for anyone that has any interest in aviation.

I liked the video. Certainly a different perspective. My family and I live on the east end of the lake and take the boat over at least once during the show to watch the planes come in. Often the perch are biting as well, which is a bonus.

We were on our way home a few years ago and had to make a quick exit when we spotted a plane flying upside-down with a guy standing/hanging on the wings.
Parked across the road at the outlet mall for a few hours and enjoyed the show.

I need to get the kids over there one of these years. Heard nothing but great things and even have a place to crash real close. Thanks for the reminder Gary as I just emailed the warden on our summer schedule.

Went quite a few years ago, camped on site for the whole week, it was awesome. Like said if you have any interest in aviation this is the show to see.

We live on the east side of the lake and go over there every year. Have taken my boat over and watched the air show from there.
My son's father-in-law donated 2 older planes to the museum.
