Burgess Junction is not part of the Snowies. It is quite a ways North of there. It is in the Northern Big Horns just West of Sheridan, WY. I have been there many times. Lots of really nice wide trails if you want to do some trail riding but more importantly it has a lot of varied terrain from pretty easy wide open meadows, to plenty of big bowls, tree riding areas, valleys and some fairly steep and deep areas. I haven't been to Cooke, but I have heard the terriain is more aggressive there than most of the Burgess Junction area. The Burgess Jct area also doesn't seem to get quite as much snow as Togwotee, or Cooke, and the powder often isn't quite as good, but they still get a good amount of snow and if you hit it right, the off trail riding conditions can be great. The trails are almost always good. I have had many trips with fair to marginal powder also, but several with good snow also. There are three lodges in the Burgess Junction area all owned by the same people. They are the Arrowhead Lodge, Bear Lodge and the Elk View Inn. The Bear Lodge and Elk View are at just over 8,000 feet and the Arrowhead is a bit lower but still lower but still over 7,000 ft. You can generally find good riding from just over 7,000 feet up to a bit over 10,000 feet. You can find info on all three lodges on Bear's website which is
