businesses with cc machines Beware!!

Just though I'd pass this along.

The other day at work we got a phone call. The guy says this is your credit card (swiper) company,the last transaction didn't go thru I need the authorization number. Well the person who took the call at first was oh ok but then realized something was fishy and put him on hold. Well the caller hung up. So we called our credit card swiper company and asked them if they had called. Of course they said no. Then proceeded to say the next thing he would have asked for was the cc # and or v code.

Ask your merchant about compliancy issues for your business. It is going to be mandatory for all to be compliant. Especially for business owners who use POS equipment. -Scarry!

yep we are compliant with the new laws. we have the new swiper that doesn't store the info from the credit cards like the old one did.

It was just another attempt to steal someones card # These ident theives never give up!!
