I never had good luck with that helmet, always fogged on cold days. Has some cool features but for me was not good in cold weather

I just got one last weekend in Bergland, cuz I got a small crack in my Mod 2 shield, and I wanted a BV2S anyway. I rode it all last weekend, without any fogging ONCE I got it adjusted to my face. It wasnt real cold last weekend though. I also wore it tonight, about 0*F here, and had no problems. It will start to fog if I stop, but it clears the second I start moving. I am still playing with it yet. My Mod 2 was exactly the same way when I first got it. So far I like it, just gotta dial it in. I really liked my Mod 2 also, but the BV2S is a MUCH warmer helmet. BTW, I can fog just about every helmet on the market, including most of the cheaper electric shield helmets, and the 2 open face with goggles set I have tried.

bv2s helmet

have had mine for two years and has fogged only once at -15, and it was just at the top. Have had electric and liked them till they stop working and that is often and always in the worst time. took about a year to stop flinching every tmie I walk away from the sled to talk to a fellow rider, that elec cord has yanked me too many times. you must get the mask to fit snug on tour face with your chin in it, That fitment is important. a beard may cause it to fog. The field of vision is superb and the built in sun visor s nice!

Bought the electric shield when I got mine and put in on first thing as I did not want to take a chance, have never plugged it in once.At least I have a nice spare shield. As told above get the mouth piece fit correct and take out the rubber disk it is not needed.Best helmet I have ever worn!

Second the positive views, my only issue has been getting too hot on warmer days, that is when I break out the motox helmet.

Also forgot to mention that I do not have wear a face mask with my BV2S,just a neck warmer to keep the wind out of neck area.Ride in temps well below zero and stay warm and fog free on every ride. They do run on the small side had to go XXXL and the chin strap could be longer. These are my only complaints after two years with it.

Very warm helmet, which is great when it's cold. No air flowing into your eyes. Agree with Scott. I switch to a modular helmet in warmer conditions. I actually like how modular helmets fit and how the front swings out, especially for wearing an iPod.

So I agree with all the positive comments. I had mine fog one time and could not get it to stop. Was on my way to Big Bay on trail 5 and was an issue until we finally stopped at the hotel where we ate. After everything thawed out and apparently put it back on correctly everything was fine. Getting the mouth/nose piece fitted to your face is critical. After this happened to me, I ordered the electric visor just in case. It was a horrible couple hours of riding 15 MPH because I couldn't see. Ruined that trip. So, I made sure that wouldn't happen again.

I usually lead and my son and riding partners insist on me having the rear light on since that's all they can see sometimes at night in the snow dust.

Now if they would just integrate speakers into the helmet....

I prefer the old school open faced helmet with a full face flip down shield. If I put a mouth guard in I feel like I am wearing a 400 dollar BV2S helmet. Cant trick me bambardier!

I gave this helmet poor reviews for eyeglass wearers before. Yesterday In the cold weather it did fine with my glasses. I just havent had any luck when it is in the mid 20's, I'm too hot headed or something.

I agree with you, I just think this helmet has so little air penetration/movement that when you heat up and it's a little warmer outside it gets warm in there. When it's in the mid 20's or higher I use my older Snoforce Modular helmet. When its cold you can't beat the BV2s.

It is a great helmet!! I have always worn an electric sheild, but that would be a distraction boondocking and even trail riding w/ the cord. Just bought the BVS2 this year and love it in all temps!! Just have to adjust the mask for tightness w/ the temp!! If you have a neck warmer, you are golden!
