CA Compliant mower?

I found a what could be a good deal on a self propelled push mower but it is CA Compliant. I know that just means it meets the standards for California pollution levels but my question is what would be different between to mowers that where the same except one was CA Compliant and one was not?

Would the CA Compliant one have less power? Due to the restrictions?

If you could save $150+ would you buy the CA Compliant one?

Also, if I buy the CA Compliant one I'm stuck with it and no warranty. If I buy the regular model one it can be returned and has a 2 year warranty.

Reviews on the model show only one possible problem. And its in the drive train, but it seams to be a hit or miss problem. It just depends on when it was built mid week or on a Monday or Friday.

What kind of mower is it? The compliant part is all fuel system/exhaust related. Gas tanks, caps and fuel lines that wont let fumes leak or evaporate through them, God forbid Kalifornia use anything the rest of the planet uses. It might have a cat. converter in the 100 dollar muffler. I bet it has lots of extra warning labels on it too. If it is made in China, dont buy it, too hard to get parts for it, and you will need them.

Thanks for the info, I was going to put a bid on this this morning but some bought it for the buy it now price. So, oh well, most I was willing to go on an ebay item like that would have been $200, I know thats low but I have watch the one at sears it currently is for sale for $319. And the way I look at it is for the little extra I get the warranty and returned it in the first 30 days for any reason (I alway thought on stuff like that Sears 30 policy was just if something was wrong) But anyway someone bought it for the full asking price of 299. Guess they save some, but to much risk for me for a difference in $20 + tax.

I picked up one of those, exact model, got one season on it and like it so far. The only annoying thing is the backup saftey "feature" so you don't back over your toes. Can only pull it backwards a tiny bit before the wheels lock and drag...really annoying but I suppose many others are like that now days. I plan on modifying that if not too much trouble. Also it uses a lot of gas for my little yard. I have to refill it to complete the job. I have about .5 acre that I use it on. Just needs another few splashes of gas to get it done. I never had to fill the old Lawnboy but slightly smaller engine on the old one.
