Cab drivers

Is there any cabbies out there that speak english? Had a cabby try to rip me off last night in Milwaukee. I do know my way around town a bit. Safe House to Mckinley marina is 2.5 miles not 7. How should a cabbie be dealt with when called out? (Felt like rambling this morning).

I don't care about the route & fare should be between x-y $s. If he took the long way more time to get there then I would lower the the tip. As far as calling him out no point in doing that no win for you or him. Cabbie has the law on his side for you to pay the the cab fare you control the tip.

well I had same issue many years ago in Vegas....yeap you can call him out!!!they try this practice on visitors all the time.....call the Gabbie commission they know how much a ride cost from point a to B......he will loose his Lic I would also call the cab company as most people lease the cab then turn around and lease it to a un lic driver and no hack lic......hope you got his name and # off his ID......

Reminds me of a trip to D.C. that I was on in the summer of '87. I was in high school, dumb to tipping, and on a budget. We had to use a cab a few times, the last couple times just to ride in a D.C. cab. Those guys always drove 20-30 mph over the limit. It was a blast zipping around town with them. I never knew I had to tip back then, but I sure would now for a ride like that. Of the week that I spent there, the rides were some of the more memorable. (And the insane heat)

Brewerys

Make sure you go to the Lakeview Brewery. They do an awesome job and you can drink beer during the tour. If your looking for an excellent meal walk across the footbridge next to the brewery and go to Trocedero Gastrobar. They have excellent food. (1758 N. Water Street) DO NOT take the brewery pontoon tour, just walk it. The pontoon ride just eats up good drinkin' time. HAVE FUN

Found Trocedero, walked up to Brady street and bar hopped a bit. Had plenty of "Lake front" beer. Amber Lager to be exact. The brewery stopped tours at 3:10pm so we missed that. Locals call the bridge between "Lakefront. Brewery and Trocedero the viaduct. Went to the "Rave" (eagles ballroom) was all 20-25 year old crowd. Found a cabbie who was good and called him for anything of distance. Tipped him well. Staying at Mckinley Marina.
