cabin in the sky.. it's location is supposed to be somewhere in the Eastern U.P. A couple of older fella's told us of it last time we made a trip to Seney, wondering if anyone else has a clue to what i'm talking about.

I know exactly what you are talkin about. Very hard to describe the right trail there. Maybe we can GPS it for ya. I think I have a pic at work.

Yes, I know it is tough to find. In our last quest we had a set of hifax go down on Dad's sled, and unfortunatley it was our last day of the trip. Lucky enough, Don Reed at the Fox River Motel in Seney was kind enough to let us use his heated garage to put a new set on, we were still able to do some last minute riding close to town before heading back to Southwest Lower, MI. Anyways, we have a GPS this year, and I would really like to find this cabin. From what I can remember the trail to it is off of trail 431 somewhere near the hot dog stand? If anyone knows a general location, or some way to describe the route to the cabin it would be greatly appreciated. GPS coord. of it would be spectacular, but I dont expect to squeeze that secret info. from anybody. getsome, if you have a picture please do send it, I would like to see what it looks like. Thanks

Pics from said Cabin in the SKy
you can see the Sand Dunes and Lake Superior on a clear day.
Location is between 888?(Rhody Creek) and 8 (M58) north of Adams Trail. Lots of trails in there make it very confusing.

Gps ?

Near as I can figure for now on Google Earth.

46- 35' 52.19" N

86- 08' 12.34" W

Looks like the location, but for some reason the cabin looks weird. Notice the approx. 200'ft elevation difference north of it. Won't get a true reading until after Xmas. Good Luck.

Not a rental. just a popular spot to ride and view. Cabin is very small 1 room. Ran into the owners a long time ago in the fall.

I believe it is on trail 888. If your heading north towards trail 8 and Grand Marais, take a left onto a two track. Follow that two track all the way in. The trail till come to a Y. At the Y take your left. Once you take your left your going to want to go about 1 mile or so and take your next left! That will lead you up towards the cabin.

Thats the best I can do. The only thing I can tell you is that first left is just before a right corner in trail 8 and there are hills on the left hand side that people like to climb.

Good Luck!

For sure north trail 888 and turning west, is the most popular entry point, but there are several bush trails in the area. Usually the most traffic leads up to it, always try to stay on the top side of the ridge. When you get to the Y take it....lol !

Actually I believe this year you have to stay on the main trails completely! The DNR will confiscate sleds if caught off trail and in the bush! Stay on the trails!

thanks all, at least I have a general location. This will help in the adventure to find the three virgin daughters sleeping and awaiting our arrival at a cabin in the sky. Hahaha this was the story that the ole yooper fella's told us at the resteraunt when trying to describe it's location.

That's the one I think it is ! but it's not that bright. Cabin is dark brown and green. But it looks to be the right view spot and high enuf. go for it!

I think this is the place that Rex always rides by when he is up there. I will find out about it, and we will visit it this winter.
