Can anyone recommend any nice cabin rentals near the Munising area, the few times I have stayed in the area in the past it was always at the AmericInn on the shore of Lake Superior, If I can do it am considering a second trip this year and would like to show my wife the area and after staying at the root cellar for so many years have gained liking to cabin rental rather that hotel. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Winter or summer?

oops..sorry winter, snowmobiling so preferably near or with easy trail access without having to trailer, when we stayed at the AmericInn the trail access was less than desirable to say the least, maybe that has changed and even though it is just the wife and I staying together we would rather stay in a cabin and not to be picky but not one of those roadside 1 room cabins, preferably a full size one.

I know I could just go on-line and look, that would be easy. but I would rather hear from personal experiences or recommendations from people or groups I trust and being a snowmobiling forum site, who better to ask. IMO

Check out Sixteen Mile lake. Multiple places and a short ride in the woods to link up with trails 8&7. Close to Buckhorn. We stay at Snow Shoe Inn. The owners live upstairs and we have a three bedroom, full kitchen, living room & bathroom. Or you can rent the whole log home next door.

We always stay at the Buckhorn because of the great trail access, but I don't think their cabins are open in the winter, just the motel portion and the bar n grill.
