I work in sales for a metal stamping company and we make many types of rough-in products for the plumbing and hvac wholesale industry.
Over the weekend I was wandering through a new home being built in my neighborhood and noticed a unique method to support 'drop ear' bend supports for pex tubing. The metal brackets you see in the photos are called a Hyco bracket and have many uses in the plumbing trades. We sell this bracket to many wholesalers, but I never have seen it used in quite this manner, thought it was an interesting and inexpensive method to support pex at the termination point. Personally I would have added another bracket along the top edge of the 'drop ear' to gain additional support, especially important when the drywallers hang sheet rock.
