I'm looking for feedback on a nice place to stay midweek for 1 night around the Calumet area for a backpack trip. We have stayed in Houghton and Hancock prior, this time we are looking to stay further north.
Let me know what has been good prior.
Thanks

All of those are good options. If you want to stay Calumet or north and are backpacking one I'd really suggest is the White House Motel in Mohawk. I've been there a few times and going back tomorrow. Not the newest place but clean and very convenient when you're on the sled. Decent place for dinner across the street with a bar that has always stayed open late, then a great breakfast next door at Slims. You can walk to both in a minute and leave the sled parked at your door. AmericInn gives you some food places close too, Trailside is a great place to. Been there a few times and the renovated their rooms in the past couple years so they probably have the nicest stuff, but food and drink is a little farther to get to.

AmericInn in Calumet is my suggestion. Stayed many times in recent years.

Pool and Hot Tub
Breakfast in the morning.

Everything north is an easy day ride.
