Razorback Lake outside of Sayner or Indian Mounds in Lake Tomahawk.

None are "ATV friendly" as Vilas COunty and the WDNR are not "ATV Friendly"

Cedar falls campground on the north end of the willow flowage. It is outside minocqua about 20 minutes or so. Can Atv all the roads in the township right from the campground and launch the boat right at the campground to the willow which is 6300 acres of fishing. They have little beach there also. Spots are typically in the sun.

If you go to the Willow Flowage, ask the locals about the lake. If it is down at all there will be areas of stumps that you need to avoid. There are also good trails south to Lake Nokomis, Boomba Bar is a good stop. There are not any stops around the Willow, everything is near the dam.

The willow is tough on boats. Many stumps and humps in the middle of nowhere. Not sure if you were saying you had an inboard? This is not a skiers lake but it has been done. We tube behind our boat out there but I live on the lake and know it pretty well and where to stay away from. If you stayed on the north side at cedar falls, there are only 2 bars near the dam which have food. In all only about 20 houses on the lake - the rest is all state land which you can pull up and have a day party on the beach. Most of the willow is sand so finding your own stretch of beach for a day is not hard. Water was way up earlier this year but is going down steadily now. About 18" low so you might find some stretches of beach. There are many campsites - first come first serve which you can also hunker down at for the day. It is a fun day lake to go to as you can pull up anywhere to stop. It is definitly not lake minocqua - if you are looking for the all the traffic and bars, you would be better served on another body of water.

ATV is good around there. You can head up to the Edge on atv's, head around the north side of the lake to the west side, and then make your way back. Around 50 miles just around the lake. Mostly roads - some dirt, some paved and some trail. Going south you can get into tomahawk or ride the many open backroads near kelly fire land or rozell road. There are quite a few stops and can easily make an entire day out of it.

Let me know if you need more info.

Yeah, I don't think I would take an inboard on a flowage. Especially if it was you first time. Jmho. Plenty of other lakes you could trailer to.

great info guys thanks much. going to decide soon. yes stumps and inboard does not sound good. Going to make thirsty whale 1 of those days.

skidoolouie: You might want to look into Moose Jaw Resort on Round Lake in the Park Falls area, about 20 miles west of Minocqua. Take Hwy. 70 west to Forest Road 144 and turn right. Moose Jaw is about three or four miles down FR144 and they offer a full restaurant/bar, camping, cabins, access to the Round Lake and Pike Lake chain (which should be deep enough for your boat), access via boat to other bars/lodges (Musky Jacks comes to mind), and they are very ATV friendly. Moose Jaw is located at the edge of the Chequamenon National Forest, so you can ride from their parking lot and have access to many miles of ATV trails that run westward to Park Falls, south to the Solberg Lake area and beyond.

Hope this helps you plan your trip. Jake.
