Carb adjustments?

I just traded a kitty cat for an `83 enticer 340. It had been sitting for 4 or 5 years so I drained the tank and cleaned the carbs. To my surprise it fired on the second pull. The only problem is it wouldn`t idle. I took it out this morning and put a couple miles on it and it idles better but still has a low end bog, and will die unless you give it a little half choke or feather the throttle VERY gently.
Do I need to reclean or adjust the carb, or just ride it some more till it comes out of it?

Oh yeah I took it off and checked for nests. I didn`t see any signs of them, so I didn`t split the box and fully inspect it.

Get some seafoam (about $6.50 a can) put in your gas tank and run around for awhile this may clean up a lot of things even help your rings out. I like it and use it in all my motors B/4 storage. better then Stabil!!!!!

Did you clean the pilot jets? Sounds like they are partially plugged. They are small to begin with and hard to clean. If you need full or partial choke to fix idle issues, plugged pilot jets are almost always the culprit.

Clean the jets under the plate on top of the carb, sometimes they are missed in a clean up, as they are not typical carbs.

you put a coulple miles on a kitty kat?
never mind i just re-read your post L.O.L!!
BTW X2 pilot jets

Yep you're on the right track i would say....clean pilot jets agn and like also said run some seafoam thru her and ride it for a bit. Seafoam is great stuff imho....just my $.02.

Okay, I hate to admit it, but when I tried to remove the pilot jet half the top broke off, you know ,round jet w/ slot cut in the middle now half is missing. This had to have happened before. Now what? Thanks in advance.

As long as the hole is open and not enlarged, dont worry about it. Compressed air and carb cleaner are your friends.

I've plucked a couple of wires from a wire brush and clamped them with vice grips to clean small jets, works good too.

Guitar strings. Go to the local guitar shop and see if they will give you some of the clipped off ends of some electric guitar strings.
