Carb boots / reed valve question

So....went and ordered new carb boots for my 2003 mxz 500. After pulling the old ones off I noticed that they are one whole sealed unit (boot and reed). I ordered only the boot (no reed). My question is can I now order the reed valves and install the both together (reed and boot). Or am I looking at ordering the sealed unit like the ones I took off? Not cheap that's for sure..

They are one peice units from the factory. You can order aftermarket ones seperately. If you have the boots...just order some RAD valves now. They are way better anyway and about the same cost as stock factory ones.

I replaced the boots on my 05 GTX 600HO (not a 500SS motor) with Boysens. The OEM was a one piece unit and cost about 3 times as much from skidoo. The Boysen's are aluminum with a small piece of rubber to connect the card to the reed cage. The reed is a seperate piece that can be replaced if required.

I think I paid around $250.00 for a complete set. Been 4 years no problems with them yet.
