Carb problem on a Briggs motor

I have a power washer with a B & S motor. I put gas in it the other day and it all came right out of the carb onto the ground. Would that mean the floats are gone, or something else? I've never tore one apart, but I guess I will now...
Thanks.

Go ahead and add a little gas, as soon as it start leaking "Rap" the carburetor with a screw driver handle a couple of times and see if that does the trick.

And yes you can use something other that a screw driver handle just try not to bust the carburetor off.

Just came in from working on a B S engine. My prob was the opposite. Getting no gas. This had been sitting for many years. Fuel bowl was all gummed up and old gas didn't even smell like gas. But I noticed when checking the float if I pushed it up higher than level it would stick.

So maybe give the fuel bowl a few light taps.

Thanks for the replies, I will try the tap on the carb trick. I had no gas in it for quite some time, but can't remember if I ran it dry or not...
