Carburetor Synchronizers

I was wondering if any body has purchased any of the Carburetor Synchronizers and are they hard to use and worth the money. I own several Polaris triples from storms to xlts and which ones work the best the vacuum ones or the liquid.

You would have to modify the carbs if they do not have a vac. port on them. The tube style are a little more accurate, although they operate with mercury, so dont break it. The guage style are a little tougher, and probably fine for 2 strokes.

I heard that the VM38 carbs have the vacuum port. Some body has to know how to synchronize the carbs

I just want to make sure they all are in tune to each other. Thinking of buying the synchronizers but not sure which one to buy. Some of the ones I"ve seen say they are for 4 strokes and not to use on 2 stroke.

One way to do it without spending any money is.
First thing you can check is by removing air boots to carbs you place a finger on each carb slide at the same time, Have someone move the throttle slowly. All the slides should start to move at the same time. If they move at the same time just make sure your air screws are turned out the same amount and you should be pretty good.
IF NOT
Back the idle screws out on each carb so that the slides are setting all the way down.
Now place fingers on slide and move throttle, if slides don't start moving at same time you adjust the throttle cables on top of carbs to get them moving in sync.
Adjust idle screws an equal number of turns.
Recheck slide movement.
Adjust air bleed screws equal number of turns.
This should be good enough for a normal sled operation. The sync gauges real come into play for races and those trying to get every once of Hp.
let me know if this helps

Save yourself some money and don't buy any tools. The best way to synchronizer carborators is to use a drill bit. Take off the air box, find a drill bit that fits between the cutout in the carb and the bottom of the carb, adjust all slides so they are the same. Now take a mirror and look at the BACK of the carb slide, with the throttle held wide open, make sure all slides are the same distance from the top of carb to the bottom of the slides. You are now synchronized.
