Caution on Trail 3 north of Twin Lakes

Just got word that a water main broke and has washed out a portion of trail 3 approximately 17 miles north of Twin Lakes. The trail is still passable and the washed out area will be getting flagged ASAP. Use extreme caution while traveling in this area.

The township has been made aware of the break and will be fixing it, but have not given a firm date yet. The trail will have to be completely closed when the fix is going on, but we are also in the process of working with the DNR on a re-route.

So an update to this *****BREAKING NEWS STORY*****

My cheap imitation of CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc.

The latest is that the repair will be made tomorrow, February 12th. They WILL NOT BE CLOSING THE TRAIL during the repair, just using traffic control.

A more exact location is around 1 mile south of South Range.

Looks like this water break caused an advisory to boil your water.

And the (click →) "boil water" advisory has been lifted!

Hit it before the cones were in place and snow partially covered the ground. The spot was well marked on the second day.
I do appreciate the information. The spot opened pretty quickly. It didn't make a whole lot of sense to see bare ground in that location. It is not a normal spot to see running water even at higher air temps.
