Have any of you out there had any experience with Consumer Cellular for cell service? Thanks for any and all info.

No experience but here are a few facts. CC uses GSM which works more off of ATT and T-Mobile towers. So your service experience will be similar to those big boys. If it isn’t ATT, T-Mobile or Verizon, the cellular provider is using one those companies towers.

Fyi, I switched a couple years ago to T-Mobile (from Verizon) as V’s costs kept going up. Grabbed T-Mobile’s senior plan which gave us unlimited North America, texting and data all for CC’s pricing. The big plus at the time was the rate being locked forever and gives us international text while our daughter travels the world solo (😡).. We added her at a 2x rate for a 3rd phone.

Thanks heckler56 for your detailed info! Yeah it's the V's costs that we have had enough of. I will checkout T-moble options also. ;) Ride, be safe, and enjoy!

I was always curious about how well the budget companies worked. When our daughter got a phone I thought it was a perfect opportunity to try one, went with Mint Mobile and we are so far very impressed. I'm considering going with it vs US Cellular next time I need a new phone

I switched from Verizon to Spectrum last fall. I and my wife had been on Verizon since the early 90's and like others the price was just out of line. It seems to work fine but I use the phone calling very little, I am mostly a text person.

I did have a little difficulty getting the switch over completed. The Spectrum people told me that all I needed was a wifi connection and didn't need any cell coverage when making the switch. I have zero cell coverage at my house in Indiana. After an hour messing around with the phone and customer service at spectrum I finally took my phone and went over to my son's house where he has good cell signal. As soon as I logged onto his wifi the switch happened.

When I switched the wife's over it only took a couple minutes.
