Cell Tower on Brockway Mnt.

What's the local gossip in the Kee on the cell tower on Brockway Mtn.?

I'm reading grumbles all over the place on the obscured view it will create, but most of those views are from WI, the Lower, MN, IN and the FIB's.

My Indiana opinion is, if it make the area safer... build it. But I've also stated, I don't live there. The way I've understood it, it's county property up there but there also might be other viable options?

"Not in MY backyard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the way people are. Having watched 2 different pipeline ROW's issues, has been nothing but laughable! People were all for someone else having the pipeline ROW on their property, but not on their property!!!!!!!!

don't know about these guys that live there. we have several cell towers on our land each paying a monthly fee. I would call that company about 2 seconds after reading this if I owned some land there. you can put on my property for 10% less than anyone else offering. can you say....new sled fo free

Ya got a buddy who bought his grandpa's farm just on the north edge of our town. ATT wanted to put tower on water tower in town. Town said no. Buddy called ATT and they put tower in the old cow yard couple hundred yards from house. Paying him 700 bucks a month rent with that increasing each year. Funny thing at the meeting to approve it, the only person against putting on his land was his grandpa that sold him the farm.... lol. Talk about a cash cow!!

I would keep it a local issue imho. They are the ones to look at it each day.

Slimcake/tracker - how do those contract work out? $700 per month seems like a nice chunk of change. Is it for 50 years or something?

no its just a contract each company is different. we have ATT and CRICKET and VERIZON and TMOBILE and 3 share a tower and one has its own substation yada yada yada but I can say its more than 7 hondos for one. I would be helping them put up the tower and suggesting to them that they could have Verizon and tmobile and other companies share the towers expense and the rent.....KA CHING....CHING....CLANG....DING....the dam cash register would sound like a lighthouse bells for gods sake

Know someone how has tower on property and he said tower is owner by private company and they rent space to anyone who wants it. So the more renters the more money for land owner. Also like in home sales lacation is everything if there is only one place to put tower you have a gold mine if they have many choices for tower then the rent for land won't be as much. So yes you can make money with a tower on your land but there are a lot of factors that play into how much you will get.

if you locals are worried aboot [sic] astetics [sic] and looks there are these that I don't think your aware of...ask them and they will put it up instead …
Oh yeah, that would work!
Of course I think either of these would look great atop Brockway :)cool:):

or

… but (sigh!) perhaps either of these — along with Tracker's suggested image — would be more suitable for the neighborhood :)():

"Yeah, right!" (see reference #1 below)

  1. (click→) Oxford Dictionaries: "yeah".
  2. (click→) American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language: "yeah".
  3. (click→) Collins English Dictionary: "yeah".
  4. (click→) Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary, 11th Edition: "yeah".
This is a pretty "informal" place, so I'm OK[SUP]1[/SUP] with a "nonstandard spelling, representing informal pronunciation."
Does that work for you? :p

[[SUP]1[/SUP] Maybe you'd prefer "okay" (Macmillan Dictionary)?] ;)
