So it's getting late....I know should be done already but..... decided i need new hyfax.....how do i change them on rev? Looks like they are too wide to fit thru track windows so am i left dropping whole skid out just to slide these off and new ones on? First skidoo i've ever owned. Have always rode Polaris and just slid them out window and slid new ones in.

Just work em back. They will go thru with a little force. Spray em down with wd-40 to help you out. If you got reverse just get them out of a window a little bit and put it in rev and they will peel off. Make sure you got it high enough to let the slide come off. On the new ones tapper the front and the back. The front to make it easier to put in and the back to make it easier to take off next time.

It doesn't matter what brand it is, if it doesn't fit through the windows take a utility knife and trim some off each side of a window. I have been doing it for years, easy and painless and the track always stays nice. Pick a spot on the track and use the same windows next time too!

After cutting track window, I take a 1/4 inch drill bit and heat it up and burn a curve into the track to smooth out the edges.

Thanks guys.....thought about cutting windows out in one spot for next time but decided to just drop skid and give it a good look see. Everything great greased it up while out andnew slides on. Had little trouble getting back bolts back in then thought it thru took ratchet strap compressed rear shock just a bit and bolt holes then lined right up......Now i'm ready......BRING ON THE SNOW!!!!!!! Thanks again all. Great ideas here and gotta love this site for everyones input.

Air chisel

The best way i've found to remove hifax without removeing skid is to us a small air chisel. Spray with WD-40, hit the side of hifax with chisel, takes less than a minute once you get the window lined up. This works great if you have a air chisel.
