Charging Problem

I have a 1999 skidoo Grand Touring 700. 2 yrs ago I replaced the stator and last year I replaced the battery and it ran great. This year I am having a problem with the battery keeping a charge. I'm looking at the voltage regulator as maybe being the problem, how do I go about troubleshooting the voltage regulator?

Before u dive into replacing more expensive parts I would check the battery with a load test. If your battery was stored with no charge it may have lost capacity. If its 100% good then charge it up full put it in the sled with clean terminal connections and Check the voltage with a voltmeter(not running). If theres no drop in volts than youve ruled out a parasitic drain. Next check the voltage while running(it should increase at this point). If not than you have charging system problems. If all the lights work good and the sleds running good its hard to pin that on the stator or VR.
