Charging system?

'07 rev 600 sdi. Seems my charging system isn't working. Had batery light come on just before I got home Fri. night. Thought the batery was shot cause it was original. Bought new batery on Sat., filled it, charged it and took for a ride. Got about 5 miles and light and beeper started again. Turned around and charged again. Took for another ride, same thing. I know its low cause it turns slow when starting with starter. Question is, what runs the charging system? Stator? Voltage regulator? What?

Check fuse but good chance voltage regulator. really need to check output from stator.

This is right on the money. If you don't have a multimeter don't play with, and take it to a service facility. Notice how I didn't say dealer!!!!

Thanks guys. I do have a good meter (I'm an electrician by trade) and I have the required perameters from the service manual for the stator and regulator. So, I'll be testing this weekend. I'll let you know what I find.
