Chassell to Houghton?

Trail maps on fishweb show a trail from Chassell to Painsdale now. Is that an option other than running the Portage to Houghton? If not what other options are there?

That trail is not in existence. Must be a very old map, as it has been gone for years. There is a group of individuals working on getting it re-established, but still a lot of work to do with the land owners.

I would not run the Portage for quiet some time. Been a very mild winter and ice is sketchy at best right now.
