Cheap motel along I-75 northern lower?

Heading to Munising for the first time in a few weeks.

Leaving in afternoon from Cincinnati and figure to get somewhere near the Mac bridge (~9 hrs) so I have a short run into Munising the next morning.

Prefer staying in lower and crossing the bridge in the morning (never been across it before!) but I'd consider staying at the north end.

Any suggestions for cheap convenient lodging?

Lodging is going to be cheaper across the bridge. There are plenty of hotels on both sides but the ones in St. Ignace are much cheaper. We stayed over there a few years ago and paid around $40.00 compared to $100+ at the Holiday Inn Express in Mackinaw City. That's where I usually stay when I take the family up.
