Trying to help a friend here....any one know what could be causing the check engine light to flash steadily on a 2005 Fusion 900? When coming to a stop it shuts off and stays off once you go again until you reach a certain rpm and then it flashes steadily. (Sorry I dont know what rpm that happens at) He has looked at the code book, but of course nothing matching this is in there. Next step was to take to a dealer to check it out, but thought I'd ask around to see if anyone has had a similar issue.

Thanks pippy...he was thinking the same thing as he did have to replace all the pistons earlier this season, but after pulling them they all look to be fine and it doesnt look like that is an issue anymore. Hes actually checked them after every ride to be sure, and the sensor is still going off.

I had a similar issue with my fusion. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the air sensor in the airbox. The part cost around $80 at the time. This was in 2007. Problem fixed. I wouldn't have known this unless I took it in though. Goodluck!
