Just wondering if anyone is using or has used a Chevy Traverse or it sisters IE GMC Acadia as a tow vehicle and what there expereince has been. I am pulling a 2 place with front ramps, and currently using a Trailblazer EXT with the V8. Wife is in love with the Traverse but seems like a significant horsepower drop and have never been a fan of all wheel drive (though I hear the new version is great). Just wanted to hear peoples experience with them. Thanks guys.

Just bought a traverse durning the summer. Pulled a 16 1/2 foot runabout boat with 75 horse outboard on it and couldn't hardly tell it was back there. Haven't had a chance to pull the sleds yet.

I have read several tests on the Acadia/Traverse including one where they towed a 5000 lb boat, very near the 5200 lb towing limit. The 6-speed trans and hi-revving V6 seem to do fine although it's not going to have the grunt of a 5.3 in the TB EXT. I would have no concerns towing a 2-place pop up. If you go to a bigger 3 place inline I would be concerned with weight on the rear wheels and sway, meaning if I was pulling a larger trailer I would want a setup like a travel trailer with weight transfer bars and a sway control...in my opinion not quite enough vehicle to be pulling a larger trailer in the winter in extreme conditions but for a smaller trailer it would be fine. Compared to the TB EXT I think you'll find the chassis dynamics similar. Suggestion, take your TB and your trailer to the dealer and tell them you want to do a test tow with the Traverse....if they really want your business they'll figure out a way to give you a real test drive.......
