Christmas/New Years

Figured it was time to start a xmas ride discussion. I'm not trying to "put the trailer before the truck," BUT I'm going to anyway. I think we will have some decent riding in the ususal favored lake effect areas, so I know my group and I will (depending on snow) be riding Paradise, Pine Stump, Grand Marais OR the northern lower (based out of Wolverine). Anyone else???

My 'better half' has to work 27-30, so I'm heading up alone to enjoy the week not hearing "slow down"!!! :triumphant:

I'm on Manistee Lake in Kalkaska.

I'm headed to Wolverine this weekend and should be there sometime between Christmas and new years as well.

Anyone going that way this weekend? I know some guys are waiting on better conditions, but trail reports from all surrounding areas say panning or grooming has or will start before weekend.

We will definitely be making a run to the Hideaway/Lakes of the North area. We too will be "the fellas" and like to play at a quicker tempo.

I'm dug in with hockey and other obligations this weekend, but would enjoy a report after your trip. I just read that packing and panning have begun in Indian River, so with the fresh snow fri and sat you should be styling.

group of 6 of us headed to Lake gogebic day after christmas until that friday. We might attempt bergland to copper harbor and back in one day .. Woohoo. anyone else game for that?

Figure about 325 miles round trip.

I did it two years ago when I was 67 years old.

Actually felt pretty good although tired. Doubt I will do another 300 mile day.

I will be in Mass City from the 21st until the 3rd. Looking for someone to ride with the 22nd,23rd,24h before the rest of my group arrives.

Thats kind of what we figured it might be. We did land o lakes to houghton and back last year but we had a very late start that day.

A group of us will be at my cabin near Tahq. Falls the 30-2. Will probably ride towards Pine Stump and around Whitefish Point.
