Cisco Chain Directions?

Hi all, I'm looking for information on the dangerous spots on the Cisco Chain near Big Lake and Bent's Camp. I have ridden the barrels from Bents to the Cisco Bar many times, but never veered from the marked trail. This weekend Ill be staying at a cottage on the west side of big lake and am looking for advice on how to get to Bent's without having to ride the ditch on HWY B. Thanks for any pointers!

Everything along the barrels has been good all year, plenty of ice. You may find I slush spot or two but nothing that should be unsafe. As for big lake I can’t help you with any fact but I would think it should be good probably have a better chance to find slush spots as to not as much traffic on big lake make your first run in daylight so you can see head up towards the Morley lake channel and pick up trail. I have seen tracks going to big lake but have not been on it with sled. Hope this helps.

I rode the Cisco Chain from Pioneer over to Bents and The north end by the Cisco Lake bar New Years, the channels were marked where the open water was and any bypass was easy to see. Always a good idea to scope out during daylight hours.

I am far from an expert of the Cisco Chain but with the exception of the channel under the Lindsey Bridge the channels between the lake have never been an issue as they are only 20 feet wide or so.

Hi all,
Thanks guys for the reassurance. I was able to EASILY find the right path in the daylight. There is some slush on the lake(s) if you get off the beaten path, but there was enough traffic already from the Big Lake boat launch to the marked barrel path on Morley Lake that it was literally no problem. Doing it in the dark would be heart pumping, but totally doable after a few more muscle memory inducing practise runs!

Bent's camp actually had two airplanes land while were were there! I'd post pictures, but I struggle with that, even after reading the picture sticky post....
